A Couple Stitches.....

Once I finished decorating, adding a few more fresh evergreen boughs, I didn't have time for much stitching.  Guess at this time of the year I should be happy for anytime to hand stitch at all.

First I did the circles in the border as the pattern called for, Blanket Stitch in silver metallic thread.  A little BLING, oh be still my heart.

Next up the tree trunk.  Hmmmm.....finally I decided to do a Whipped Backstitch using 2 different threads.  First I did the Backstitch in wool thread that really just blended with the fabric.  Then I did the whip stitching in a variegated Perle Cotton to add dimension and texture.  I like the look if I do say so myself.
