Open House Sneak Peek #5

Here is an example of a Journaling Gift Pack. It includes a 7 Gypsies book cover, binding rings, paper, and other ephemera/scrapbook paper by 7 Gypsies and Tim Holtz. It would make a great gift.

Houston:Special Exhibit; In Full Bloom

As I prepped Open House Sneak Peek #3 I came across a Houston photo that hadn't made it to the blog yet...so indulge a proud Mom. Here is Kristin standing in front of her quilt, "Lotus" which was part of the "In Full Bloom 2011: Floral Quilts in Memory of Helen Pearce O'Byrant".

Open House Sneak Peek #3

I know today's sneak peek is a little late...but better late than never. These are 2 of several landscapes that will be available at the Open House. Using fabric as paint and embellishments to add texture/depth each is a little snippet of a photo or what is out the window.

Open House Sneak Peek #2

I missed yesterday's sneak peek so today you'll get 2. This first one is some more ornaments/gift tags. They are not complete quite yet but will eventually have an eyelet with ribbon to hang from. Check back later for the other sneak peek.

Open House Sneak Peek #1

I'm going to do my best to post at least one picture of some of the items that will be found in our open house each day leading up to it. It is Friday Dec 2nd from 9-5 and Saturday Dec 3rd from 9-2. Don't forget some of the items will be posted on the blog so that those who can't make it can do holiday shopping with us as well.

Here are a few mixed media ornaments!!

This was the start of some fun for the Artist Inspiration Boxes. (The store owner thought we were a little mad when we said we wanted 20 or so empty boxes.)

Here's the outside of one of the boxes.

The inside contains 3 glass jars. The jars have Tim Holtz/7 Gypsies ephemera, buttons, and found objects. Also there are shipping tags, ribbon, green burlap, a journaling ticket, & a bird tag.
Each box is slightly different then the next.

This piece was done to show what the Adirondack Color Wash can do on fabric and paper. It is a water based dye that you spray on to your surface. It is permanent once heat set on fabric!!!! So simple cause no mixing of a powder or liquid. Just spray and move around with a wet paintbrush. ***This will be back in stock on our website the week of Nov. 14th***

Booth #800 at Houston

This is the way the booth looked when we walked up to it on Tuesday. A blank canvas.

Curtains hung and now time to start getting all the product out.

Here's the final view on Wednesday just before opening night.

Look how close we are to the front of the building!! We can see daylight....lol.

Of course our booth no longer looks exactly like this as we sell out of product and we have to rearrange but it did look all nice and crisp at one point!!!

Trip to Houston

We are here in Houston and just waiting a few more hours until set up will begin for this year's Quilt Festival. Here is a couple photos of the van full of product that we have with us!! We couldn't help but notice that we had more space we could have filled. Then again we only have a 10 x 10' space!! Can't wait till tomorrow night when we will start seeing many of you come through the booth for yet another year. This year we are NOT in MIU but in a much better booth space. Booth #800 just to the left inside the main entrance. See you there!!!
