Hand-Dyed Cotton Twill on Sale!!

Where have the first three weeks of the year gone???  Seems like we blinked and they disappeared.  Although we have a lot to show for it.  Many items have been dyed and are being marked back in stock online.  We are working on getting the Silk Play Packs and Fiber Play Packs back together.  Hopefully next week those will be in place.  Also we have been dyeing a few new textures like last week's osnaburg.  This week the new texture is cotton twill.  It is a great weight and can be used for many things.

Paducah Classes Now Open & Dyed Osnaburg on Sale

We've been working away dyeing since the weather has been insanely warm!!!  I mean just last night we were working in the dye studio with the door open at 7PM and walking around barefoot.  Isn't it January??  It is supposed to be freezing cold not 72 degrees!  It is quite helpful though since we were able to get so much dyeing done.  Now we are back to the cold snap and dyeing in smaller batches.

Sale of the Week: Hand-Dyed Osnaburg Fat Quarters & Charm Packs 10% off

Paducah Classes Now Open for Registration

Great Beginnings for 2013

We are so excited about 2013!!  A couple of opportunities have presented themselves and we are looking forward to them.

We are going to Paducah!!  Not in the normal sense though as we will not be vending in the AQS show.  We will be the artists-in-residence at the A.I.R. Studio in Lower Town April 14th-27th!  We will have finished art in a gallery area as well as our normal selection of supplies!  Here is the great part.....we will be offering workshops during both weeks!!!  We are finalizing those and we will announce them in next week's newsletter.  Some will be surface design related and others will be our "version" of traditional with just fabric and hand embroidery.  There will only be 6-8 students in each workshop and 10 spaces for the Make & Takes You will be able to sign up on our website starting next week.  We will even be offering a "Buddy Break" for friends that sign up together.

Sale of the Week: Cheesecloth Gradations $1.00 off & Combos $2.00 off

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things....

Somehow getting back into the swing of things after the holidays seems to be harder this year than in the past.  It may have something to do with "volunteering" to do the quilting on some quilts darling daughter was piecing for gifts,  ummhummm they aren't done, but I am trying.  I began with a baby gift made earlier in the fall. Love how the quilting turned out on this one.
I remembered seeing an article by Heather Thomas in Quilting Arts in 2011 that had a Swirl Flower motif, personally have used swirls for years but not in conjunction with a flower.  It was so much fun doing my fav on this very girly quilt.
Even the back looks great...can't ask for more.  Now all it needs is a photo label with all pertinent information.
Confession time:  I now have 2 twin size quilts in the queue and she is busy piecing 2 more for our booth at QuiltCon in February.  Think maybe the 2 for February will get done before the twin ones.  Oh well guess that means I'm a "real quilter" always have a "few" UFO's around.
